Ram boys take third place in South Central Calhoun Cross Country Invitational

Ram junior Noah Hinote led the Rams to a third place finish with a time of 18:14.9, crossing the finish line in sixth place. Junior Gavyn Winters was also in the Top 20 with a time of 19:04.94, good for 20th place.

Other Ram finishes were Brady Carstensen, 23rd place, 19:25.40; Kolby Angell, 29th place, 19:59.98; Carter Hinote, 35th, 20:20.40; Eli Carstensen, 52nd, 22:02.24; and Blaise Schilling, 64th, 23:18.93.

Team scores were East Sac County 36; Sioux Central Sr, 60; Greene County 109; Southeast Valley 121; Denison-Schleswig 121; South Central Calhoun 125; Ridge View 148; Atla/Aurelia 183; Woodward Academy 229; OABCIG 2356; and Newell-Fonda 317.

The girls team did not have enough runners for a team score. Finishes and times were Becca Anderson, 25th, 23:55.56; Ava Minnehan, 28th, 24:16.6 and Evelyn Snyder, 38th, 25:39.94.

In the boys JV race, Maddox Carstensen finished 14th with a time of 23:45.3, followed by Jaden Koller in 15th place with a time of 24:01.12. Dester Ritter finished in 28th place with a time of 27:11.20.

“I’m really proud of the effort at the Lake City course,” coach Jeff Lamoureux said. “We still aren’t 100 percent healthy, but at least we had all our varsity runners in the meet with the return of Carter Hinote.”
